SAKURAO Brewery & Distillery Launches Limited-Edition SAKURAO GIN ORIGINAL GIN & TONIC Matcha

SAKURAO Brewery and Distillery Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce the launch of the limited-edition SAKURAO GIN ORIGINAL GIN & TONIC Matcha, available from November 2026.

The limited-edition “SAKURAO GIN ORIGINAL GIN & TONIC Matcha” is an authentic gin and tonic characterized by its refreshing yet full-bodied flavor, made with SAKURAO GIN ORIGINAL, which is crafted from carefully selected botanicals.

As a new challenge, we’ve incorporated elements of “Japanese-style” that we haven’t featured before. Focusing on “matcha” a classic combination beloved in bars, we invite you to discover a new side of the Gin and Tonic.

The richness of matcha that harmonizes with gin

We searched for a tea flavor that would pair well with a gin and tonic, testing numerous tea leaves. The answer we arrived at was matcha, with its rich umami. We sought to bring out matcha’s inherent umami beyond bitterness and astringency and achieve harmony with the aroma of gin.

Furthermore, by adding a hint of yuzu as a secret ingredient, we’ve enhanced the flavor with a subtle, floral aroma and refreshing notes, adding depth to the overall taste.
